Tips & Tricks on Making the Most out of Your Engagement
- Create an announcement about being engaged. Do this virtually or use specific platforms such as Minted, Zola or Shutterfly.
- When given the opportunity which should be ALWAYS… tell everyone you are engaged. Let’s say you are going out to dinner with your fiance, tell the hostess, “We are newly engaged.” Not newly engaged? No worries… continue to do this at every given opportunity. Checking into a resort? Tell the front desk, anyone and EVERYONE that you are engaged. Doing this trick will increase excitement about being engaged while also increasing the likelihood of receiving “Room Upgrades” and “Champagne.” I mean… who doesn’t like free stuff?
- Treat yourself, fiance or both with a celebratory box about being engaged. Having something to look forward to during the engagement process increases the excitement. One of my favorite boxes is Miss to Mrs. The quality and overall thoughtfulness behind each box will will create an ongoing feeling of excitement as the days get closer to your wedding date. Treat yourself!!
- Create a Wedding Wire or Zola Account. Both platforms allow you to create a wedding website, registry, look for vendors, browse and purchase invitations and much more. Personally, I used both platforms. I found Wedding Wire to be more beneficial when wanting to obtain immediate advice from other brides. Wedding Wire allows the user to post on their platform which makes it easy to develop friendships with other brides. While, I found Zola to be more user friendly with creating a website and registry. Both are useful platforms and I encourage all of my newly engaged readers to use one or both of them!
